Su cara está roja, su frente tiene sudor y su respiración es rápida.

Al final, Manuel habla con Lucía: —Gracias profesora. Lo siento, pero mi cuerpo no está hecho para el yoga. No voy a regresar.

—Manuel, tienes que hacer más ejercicio —dice el doctor.

"Manuel, you need to do more exercise," says the doctor.

El día siguiente, Manuel ve un anuncio en el parque: "Yoga para principiantes. Primera clase gratis."

The next day, Manuel sees an advertisement in the park: "Yoga for beginners. First class free."

Piensa: "El yoga es tranquilo. Es perfecto para mí".

He thinks: "Yoga is calm. It's perfect for me."

El sábado, Manuel va a la primera clase.

On Saturday, Manuel goes to the first class.

La profesora Lucía saluda a todos: —Buenos días. Soy Lucía. Hoy vamos a trabajar todas las partes del cuerpo.

Teacher Lucía greets everyone: "Good morning. I'm Lucía. Today we are going to work on all the parts of the body."

Lucía comienza: —Primero, movemos la cabeza y el cuello suavemente.

Manuel sonríe. "¡Esto es muy fácil!"

Manuel smiles. "This is very easy!"

—Ahora, estiren los brazos arriba y toquen los dedos de los pies.

"Now, stretch your arms up and touch your toes."

Manuel intenta, pero solo llega a sus rodillas. Él no tiene flexibilidad.

Manuel tries, but he can only reach his knees. He doesn't have flexibility.

Manuel observa a la clase. Todas las personas pueden tocar sus pies sin doblar las rodillas.

Manuel looks at the class. All the people can touch their feet without bending their knees.

—Ahora, la posición del perro: las manos en el suelo, la cabeza abajo, las piernas rectas, los codos estirados —explica Lucía.

"Now, the downward dog position: hands on the floor, head down, legs straight, elbows extended," explains Lucía.

Las piernas de Manuel tiemblan mucho. No puede mantener la posición.

Manuel's legs shake a lot. He cannot maintain the position.

—Respiren profundo con el estómago —dice Lucía.

"Breathe deeply with your stomach," says Lucía.

"¿Con el estómago? ¿Es posible?" piensa Manuel confundido.

"With the stomach? Is that possible?" thinks Manuel, confused.

—Ahora estiren la espalda y los hombros hacia atrás. Sientan cómo se estira la columna.

"Now stretch your back and shoulders backward. Feel how your spine stretches."

Manuel siente dolor en músculos que no sabía que tenía.
