Question 1
Your friend asks about Luna. Reply in Spanish: Luna isn't at home. Nobody knows anything.
Example: Luna no está en casa. Nadie sabe nada.
Notes:
- Don't put no in front of nadie: nadie sabe nada.
Question 2
You are Clara at the café on the corner. Ask the waiter in Spanish, using usted: Excuse me, have you seen any white dog with black spots today? Does anyone here know anything?
Example: Perdone, ¿ha visto algún/un perro blanco con manchas negras hoy? ¿Alguien aquí sabe algo?
Notes:
- Perdone is "excuse me" for someone you call usted. With tú, it's perdona.
- Algún changes with the word: algún perro, alguna farola, algunas joyas.
- Questions often use algo and alguien. Answers often use nada and nadie: ¿Alguien sabe algo? No, nadie sabe nada.
Question 3
You are in the park. Clara asks if you have seen Luna. Answer in Spanish: I saw something white near the river an hour ago. I don't know anything else.
Example: Hace una hora vi algo blanco cerca del río. No sé nada más.
Notes:
- Write algo blanco, not "algo blanca".
- Put más after nada: nada más means "nothing else". For "something else", say algo más.
- Put no before sé: no sé nada. "Sé nada" is wrong.
Question 4
You work at the animal shelter. Clara shows you a photo of Luna and asks if you have seen her. Answer in Spanish: No, I haven't seen any white dog. We don't have any dog like this here. Nobody has called today.
Example: No, no he visto ningún perro blanco. Aquí no tenemos ningún perro así/como este. Hoy no ha llamado nadie/Hoy nadie ha llamado.
Notes:
- After no, "any" is ningún: no he visto ningún perro. "No he visto algún perro" is wrong.
- Nadie can go first, or after the verb with no in front: nadie ha llamado, no ha llamado nadie.
Question 5
Translate to Spanish: Yesterday, Clara and Paolo looked for Luna together. They went to several areas and asked a lot of people. But no shelter had a dog like Luna.
Example: Ayer, Clara y Paolo buscaron a Luna juntos. Fueron a varias/algunas zonas y preguntaron a mucha gente. Pero ningún refugio tenía un perro como Luna.
Notes:
- Write varias zonas, but varios días.
- Pero en ningún refugio había un perro como Luna also works.
- For "no shelter", write ningún refugio. "No refugio" is wrong.
Question 6
You are Clara. Call your mother and tell her in Spanish: Someone has been in my apartment today. Luna isn't anywhere. I have asked all the neighbors. None of them has news about Luna. I'm going to look for her in another park.
Example: Hoy alguien ha estado en mi apartamento. Luna no está en ningún sitio/ninguna parte. He preguntado a todos los vecinos. Ninguno/Nadie tiene noticias de/sobre Luna. Voy a buscarla/La voy a buscar en otro parque.
Notes:
- Write ninguno tiene, not "ninguno tienen".
- Put los after todos: todos los vecinos.
- Write otro parque, not "un otro parque".
